For almost a decade, the tablet PCs has been operating completely with a Windows operating system. There are also many forms of Linux and a third party, but Windows was the only mass market option. Until in 2010, when Apple launched iOS and changed the way we think about the tablet PC environment and the operating system.
Shortly after, Android started appearing on tablets like the Galaxy Tab and the newest version of Android, Honeycomb, has been developed particularly for tablet PCs.

Windows 7
Regardless of the newcomers, Windows still plays an important role in the operating system market. Windows 7 is an imporessive interface. It offers all the functionality of your PC in a mobile form. The Touch Interface Panel (TIP) is excellent for handwriting input, and support for multiple languages. It is ideal for those who travel. Unfortunately, Windows 7 is not as fast as iOS and Android, they are faster and come with a wonderful App model.

Android
The Galaxy Tab has a solid hardware and the Android 2.2 used by Samsung worked very well. It is a good alternative to the iPad for many users. With the newest Android 3.0, it comes with more advanced Widgets on the home screen, more intuitive integration of Google Apps, a new graphics engine for high end gaming, SD storage support, video chat and much more, Honeycomb is a tablet-specific OS that gives quite a few advantages over Apple?s tablet system.

iOS
Apple?s iOS has been developed for the iPhone and refined for the iPad. There are some important disadvantages in iOS as well, users must tether to iTunes for updates and backups, there is no Flash support in the web browser and once you choose an iPad, there are no other devices compatible with your iTunes and App Store purchases.

Regardless of its disadvantages, iOS is now the most intuitive system on the market. iPad comes with a developer community that has provided more than 400,000 apps (60,000+ of which provide native iPad support), users can enjoy a lot with the device.
