Synopsis: How to Buy an Android Powered Tablet PC?

Considering buying an Android powered tablet?
There is a large number of tablet PCs on the market and a lot of confusion about them. To assist you in your search, here is a list of the most important factors to consider when choosing the right tablet for you.

Android 2.1, 2.2 or 3.0: You should select Android versions 2.2 or higher. The main difference between 2.1 and 2.2 is Adobe Flash 10.1 support. A tablet with Android 2.1 cannot view flash contents. There are several web contents (including education, games, applications and more) made with Flash that you will not be able to access. For Android 3.0, it has been developed for tablets with larger screens, which makes it the best option for tablets overall. However, this version requires very high performance hardware specifications and the price is at the $1,000 dollar level.
CPU: The recommended one should be at least an 800Mhz CPU speed. Otherwise, you will experience very slow performance even when playing lightly complex games (Angry bird?).

RAM: The RAM size should be at least 512MB. With a RAM size of less than 512MB, you know how slow everything will run… Screen: The best and only option for tablet PCs is capacitive multi-touch LCD. Resistive touch screen cannot support multi-touch, which is essential for many games and applications.

Battery: The recommended capacity should be least 3500mAh. You will need at least 4-5 hours of continuous play of videos or games. If you select smaller battery capacity, you will have to take your charger with you everywhere you go.

Certified Google Mobile Services (GMS): Android tablet PCs give you access to Google marketplace (currently 150,000+ applications). However, there are many Android tablet PCs today that do not have official Google marketplace. They do not have marketplace installed or they use a 3rd party or unofficial (possibly illegal?) Google marketplace. There is a very limited number of manufacturers that produce tablets certified by Google, such as Samsung, Motorola, LG, Enspert among others. Google has arranged its endless test requirements to be qualified for Google Mobile Services (GMS) and only tablets that pass this test can get the official GMS certified by Google. Buying tablets with certified GMS means that you can access to 150,000+ applications via an official Google marketplace and rest assured your downloaded applications can run on your tablets.

These are the essential factors that can affect your life with your future tablet. Do your research before you jump into the New Android World.
